New research possibly opened a can of worms around the question can taking heartburn drugs cause pneumonia. The findings of the studies suggest that drugs belonging to two classes of popular heartburn medication may indeed slightly increase a person’s chance to develop pneumonia. Only two groups of prescribed medication have the negative effect.
